The last few months’ wait is nearly over: in just over 24 hours from now, Eeebuntu will release its next version, and will apparently also change its name. (The latter makes sense, not least because the new distro will be based on Ubuntu’s “parent”, Debian, instead of Ubuntu itself.)
I’ve been a contented user of Eeebuntu v3 for six months now, and am very keen to get my mitts on its successor (and its successor onto my Eee 701, for that matter). My understanding is that there will be an upgrade path for users of previous Eeebuntu versions (or v3 only; not sure) which won’t require reinstallation, which would suit me nicely 🙂
Anyway, I will be back here shortly with my first impressions of the new distro; in the meantime, stay tuned to my Twitter feed for the most up-to-date developments from my side of things.
Or for that matter: Eeebuntu’s Twitter feed (until they change its name 😉 )
